Starting young horses under saddle Competing successfully at the highest levels in both dressage and Show jumping definetly gives one an advantage when it comes to starting young horses under saddle. As one client put it I know that my young horse will go like a dressage horse when I get on, not like a stockhorse or a sporting pony. I know my baby will go willingly forward to the bridle , in a soft submissive way and in a nice shape. I know that when asked he/she will move off the leg , bend / straighten and go forward / back in rhythm I know that I will enjoy my ride, smile when I get off, and look forward to getting back on the next time.
